Our policy
At West Walk Surgery, ADHD medication can only be prescribed if the specialist service that is managing your treatment have a Shared Care Agreement (SCA) with us.
What this means
- Your diagnosis, titration, and initial treatment plan must be carried out by an ADHD specialist (NHS or private).
- If we have a Shared Care Agreement with the specialist, we may continue prescribing once you are stable on medication, following the monitoring plan set out by the clinic.
- You will still need to attend regular follow-up appointments at the specialist clinic.
If no shared care agreement is in place
- We cannot take over prescribing.
- In this case, the specialist clinic remains responsible for both prescribing and monitoring your treatment.
This ensures that your care is safe, consistent, and in line with NHS guidance.
